Unable to uninstall Adobe Reader 7.0.8 in order to install adobe reader 9.0.0.332

the add remove programs on my HP mediacenter 2005 PC shows Adobe reader 7.0.8 as being installed.
When I tried removing it I got a message that "the patch program could not be opened, Verifiy that
the patch program exists and that you can access it (HOW DO I DO THAT?)..."or contact the
application vendor to verify that there is a valid Windows Installer patch packet".
CAN YOU
VERIFY that there is a a valid Windows Installer patch packet? |

You should Download the latest version of Adobe Reader from www.adobe.com and install it. It will
itself prompt you to uninstall the previous version before installing the newer version. |
